Congratulations with your free Kitbash-starterkit !
On October 17th and 18th you can pick up your free Kitbash-starterkit for the
Plainries Kitbash Challenge 2026
at the Scale Model Challenge in Veldhoven.
Participating is simple: use all the parts from the starterkit and make your own creation.
That can be anything; vehicles, robots, figures, Warhammer, the choice is yours.
Dive in your sparebox and start kitbashing !
Make sure you don't miss out on all the fun and become a member of the Facebookgroup.
Rules
- Use all the parts from the starterkit.
- Make a minimum of 3 WIP and 3 end photo’s where you can clearly see the Plainries-sticker and email these to : plainries@gmail.com.
- Last date you can email the photo's is: january 31st 2027 (results follow in the next week).
- State your age: are you younger or older than 16 years (seperate prices for both category's ! ).
- You can not correspond on the outcome of the challenge.
- Prices can not be exchanged for cash money.

The Kitbash-challenge; a push in the right direction ?
Trying to get people to start kitbashing, I thought: "maybe people just need a small push in the right direction?!" So attending the SMC (Scale Model Challenge) 2019 I came up with the idea to give away a free "kitbash starter-kit". A small goodiebag with some merchandise and a pingpongball. To make things more interesting I attached a small contest to the kit; just build something using the pingpongball and win some nice prices. All contestors had to do was build something using the pingpongball and email some photo's. Lowering the bar by supplying a kitbash-part, emailing your entry from afar, and some nice prices, I hoped I could persuade as many people as possible to start kitbashing. In the end the kitbash-challenge was a great succes, some people actually started kitbashing for the first time. So mission acomplished.
This year's Scale Model Challenge will be held at 17-18 October 2026. That means another Plainries Kitbash Challenge ! This year the starterkit will contain not one, but seven kitbashparts, so you are off to a good start. So come and see me at the SMC in Veldhoven and be sure to get your free starterkit and start kitbashing !
